McCourt Global, or MG, is a diversified investment firm with interests ranging from real estate and finance, to sports and media. McCourt Global's real estate investment and development initiatives operate under McCourt Partners and include more than 5.5 million square feet of mixed-use space in active development. Current projects include a 740,000-square-foot mixed-use development project at 360 Tenth Avenue in New York, a 1.8-million-square-foot luxury residential development project on Brickell Bay Drive in Miami, a 2.4-million-square-foot development project on Waller Creek in Austin, and, in the Shoreditch area of Central London, a 900,000-square-foot project comprising 250,000 square feet of commercial development and a 40-story residential tower. Additionally, MG controls approximately 260 acres of land in Chavez Ravine in Los Angeles.
Position Summary:
McCourt Global is looking for an analytical, inquisitive team member with two years of experience in an Analyst investing role, preferably within alternative investments; someone who has exceptional financial modelling and execution skills who is detail-oriented and thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The Analyst will be responsible for analyzing investment opportunities, ongoing development projects and financing structures, enabling the team to execute fund strategy and support senior level decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Analyze potential acquisitions, predominantly in real estate, dispositions, refinancing and ownership structures for all asset classes to support senior level decision-making.
- Prepare cash flow models, incorporating analyses such as distribution waterfalls, sensitivity matrices, IRR, and NPV.
- Continuously refine revenue, cost and exit assumptions for ongoing and prospective developments.
- Prepare investment committee memos, internal briefs and related support material.
- Conduct and present analysis regarding potential acquisition opportunities, debt financing terms, and development activities to the senior management team.
- Perform due diligence such as analysis of financials, market positions, product offerings, and industry trends. Prepare presentations detailing research results for review by senior management team.
- Support annual and long range strategic planning process at the property and fund levels.
- As part of the due diligence process, review documents and zoning materials; abstract key documents as necessary.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required with a preference for a degree in finance, business, economics or mathematics.
- 2 years of financial/market analysis experience in real estate development, private equity or investment banking.
- Must be able to build cash flow models for all asset types and financing scenarios.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Experience working with Argus preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work independently while managing and prioritizing multiple deadlines.
