Job Description: Acquisitions & Finance Senior Analyst or Associate (Denver, CO Office)

 

Acquisitions & Finance Analyst / Associate

Bourne Financial Group (“BFG”) is a real estate private equity company that owns 30 seniors housing communities containing over 3,500 independent living, assisted living and memory care units throughout the United States. The portfolio’s current value is over $1 billion.

 

BFG is looking for an acquisitions analyst or associate to work directly for the Chief Investment Officer (‘CIO”) and Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”). This position will be located in Denver, Colorado. A qualified candidate will be humble and hungry – someone who is eager to learn, ready to do high quality work, demonstrates attention to detail and has a teachable attitude. 

 

Opportunity

  • Learn all aspects of the seniors housing / commercial real estate business including development, acquisitions, finance and operations.
  • Work directly with the CIO and CFO.

 

Primary Job Functions

  • Work with the CIO and Bourne’s operating partners to underwrite new markets, potential acquisitions and potential ground-up developments.
  • Work with the CIO and third-party brokers to manage the disposition process for assets in BFG's portfolio.
  • Work with the CFO and lenders to finance acquisitions or refinance existing assets.
  • Screen incoming investment opportunities and form an opinion on their merits.
  • Create detailed, multi-tab financial models with multiple return waterfalls, income statements and amortization tables.
  • Create pitch books for investment committee and potential lenders.
  • Special projects as assigned.

 

Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent Work Ethic: Your friends, teachers or co-workers should describe you as a hard worker.
  • Sense of Urgency: An ideal candidate will be proactive. 
  • Background/degree in finance, banking, private equity and/or commercial real estate. This is finance and investments job. A good candidate will know how to read financial statements, calculate IRR and CARG, and have an understanding of capital markets.
  • Candidates applying directly from an undergraduate program should have an excellent academic record.
  • High-level proficiency in Excel or a background in mathematics. An ideal candidate will know Excel well as a significant amount of information internally and externally is exchanged via Excel.
  • Willing to work East Coast hours. A typical day will begin around 7:00 a.m. and end by 4:00 p.m. Mountain time.

 

Salary / Benefits

  • Reports to: Chief Investment Officer
  • Salary: $100,000 - $180,000 / Commensurate with qualifications and experience
  • Bonus: Eligible; Based on Achieving Team’s Objectives
  • Job Type: Full time, Exempt
