Assistant Controller – Residential Portfolio
BLT is expanding its portfolio of multifamily properties and is looking for an Assistant Controller to join our team.
This position reports to our Controller for the BLT Residential Portfolio
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial reporting and analysis for multiple BLT multifamily properties.
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets.
- Prepare work papers and analyses required for annual audit and tax return filing processes.
- Prepare monthly cash forecasts
- Interface with the Residential Property management team in the preparation of monthly variance reports and re-forecasts.
- Maintain monthly work papers including any required journal entries
- Prepare work papers and analyses required for sales tax filings.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 5 years of direct experience in real estate accounting and reporting.
- Public accounting experience preferred; CPA a plus
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines is a must.
- Strong communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
- Experience with real estate accounting software.
