RedSky has acquired and is in the process of developing a number of large scale mixed use properties in NYC and Miami. This role is located in our Miami, FL office. (A similar role is also available in our Brooklyn, NY office)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Vice President of Development will lead large scale development activities; including, zoning, legal document review, budgeting, design, construction, marketing, leasing/sales and management.

  • Lead the day-to-day development activities of large scale residential projects including: programming, environmental, design, permitting, construction, marketing, leasing/sales, and public, government and community relations.
  • Take leadership and ownership for the execution of the development, with the goals of maximizing value creation and contributing positively to the local community.
  • Oversee day-to-day project management with careful attention to keeping the project on time and on budget.
  • Supervise, coordinate and motivate the project team of colleagues and outside consultants by enunciating a strategic and tactical vision for the project and creating a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • On an ongoing basis, assess project risks and recommend strategies to mitigate them.
  • Advise senior management of issues/opportunities that may have meaningful economic consequence.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to maximize land usage, building efficiency, design integrity and meet or exceed proforma targets.
  • Identify and make recommendations regarding major operating and financial decisions for approval, e.g., leases and/ or financings.
  • Creatively problem-solve as issues arise.
  • Conduct oneself with the highest level of business integrity.
  • Effectively communicate, both internally and externally.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • 7-10 years relevant experience in large scale mixed-use development.
  • Retail experience a must.  Office and Hotel experience a plus
  • Proven skill in maximizing the operating and financial performance of development projects.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Strong project management skills, results-driven, adaptable with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Complex thinker of very high intelligence.
  • Strategic thinker with a keen understanding of value creation.
  • Creative and innovative problem-solver.
  • Naturally thinks and acts like an owner.
  • Superior interpersonal skills.
