Summary:

 

A 30+ year Brooklyn, NY based student housing company [the “Company”] is seeking an Investment Analyst Intern [“Analyst”] for summer 2019 with the possibility of full time employment. The Analyst will support the execution of the Company’s urban student housing investment and asset management platforms by performing comprehensive financial analyses comprising: underwriting acquisition and development opportunities, asset valuations, monthly analysis of portfolio performance, and ad-hoc reports. The Investment Analyst will work closely with the Company’s senior leadership and interface with brokers, lawyers, architects, institutional clients, etc. The position brings a high level of responsibility and growth opportunity for the right individual at a company poised for expansion. The role reports to the Vice President of Investments

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

Conducts financial analysis of student housing investment opportunities in the New York City metropolitan area through detailed pro-forma and DCF models.

Synthesize financial presentations for investment, lease packages, and redevelopment opportunities.

Review portfolio operating performance and key performance indicators.

Support due diligence efforts in pursuit of acquisitions.

Conduct thorough market research.

Assist with other ad-hoc projects across the Company’s business units.

 

Qualifications:  

 

Demonstrated analytical rigor and genuine interest in Real Estate.

Highly motivated individual with uncompromising integrity and good work ethic. 

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Excellent academic record with an undergraduate degree.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

0-2 years work experience in Real Estate Finance, Investment Banking, Accounting, Consulting, or related field.
