General Description
- Fund Analyst will focus on investor relations, asset strategy, investment performance and investment decision analysis
- Involves quantitative financial modeling, fund and asset performance analysis, investor relations, and reporting for real estate portfolios and legacy transactions
- Collaborates in a dynamic team environment and interacts directly with senior management (CEO, CFO, Managing Directors of each vertical (Office, Hotel, Industrial)) and departments across the company
- Support with Portfolio Management functions of U.S. real estate portfolios and major joint ventures, including creating and maintaining pro formas, tracking significant asset events (acquisitions, dispositions, refinancings), reviewing valuations and cash flow projections, completing cash management analysis and organizing historic and future capital flows
- Provide analysis for investment decisions, with regards to asset hold/sell strategies, potential refinancings and the impact of other capital events
- Draft internal Investment Committee memorandums that provide fund performance information
- Update and maintain fund roll-up financial models including historical and projected asset cash flows, contributions/distributions, and fund level expenses
- Write quarterly reports and review quarterly financial statements that are delivered to investors
- Prepare annual portfolio budget for investors and monitor fund-level budget variances on a quarterly basis
- Monitor fund liquidity, cash yields, and quarterly distributions to investors
- Support investor relations through the preparation of investor presentations, investor requests and questionnaires
- Work with Acquisitions, Accounting, and other departments on special projects, fund performance tracking and other analysis, as needed
- 1-4 years of experience in an analytically rigorous Real Estate or Finance environment
- Evident passion for real estate and desire to build a career on the principal side
- Strong creative problem-solving skills
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Experience with financial modeling (fund modeling is a plus)
- The ability to work effectively with both peers and senior executives in a highly entrepreneurial, team-oriented environment
- Unwavering attention to detail
