We are a diverse, established and growing real estate development, construction and property management company. With the corporate office located in Irvine, this is a great opportunity for an individual seeking to grow with a full service commercial real estate company whose presence is within multiple US markets and has various product types including multi-family, retail, industrial, self-storage, office and hotel.
Responsibilities
- Implement proper accounting methods, policies and procedures to ensure internal control.
- Proactive research areas of improvement and recommend changes or improvements to systems and /or procedures.
- Monitor cash balance daily for all property management projects and corporate projects.
- Responsible for setting up new projects in Yardi and other system.
- Responsible for all accounting functions of corporate entities and issue monthly consolidated corporate entity financial statements.
- Assist in tax return preparation and compliance.
- Manage Corp revenue and AR status.
- Assist other accountants in month end closing and year end accounting file preparation for tax return purposes.
- Review property level Capex and Operation draw requests and financial statements with the accountants.
- Supervise Accounts Payable department of two AP Specialists. Ensure all payment checks are issued accurately and on time.
- Track capital contribution and distribution of all entities and all members.
- Interprets and abstracts development and operating agreements and loan documents to ensure compliance with requirements.
- Assist in annual budget preparation.
- Perform ad-hoc reports.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- CPA or MBA degree is a plus.
- 5 + years prior real estate accounting experience with property management / development / construction management experiences.
- Yardi Commercial and Yardi Job Cost experience a plus. Proficient in Microsoft program is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with everyone within the company.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to initiate ideas and implement new processes.
- Excellent organization and time management skills to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to prioritize work load.
- Proven ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and work accurately with a high degree of attention to detail.
