$85,035 - $104,383 Annually

We are currently recruiting to fill a Real Estate Agent vacancy within the Real Estate Services Division of the Economic and Workforce Development Department. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial real estate professional with desire to bring their positive attitude to the City of Oakland. The Real Estate Agent uses a full range of professional skills to perform work related to the appraisal, acquisition, transfer, leasing, property management, sale and disposition of real property and interests there-in for the City of Oakland and the Oakland Redevelopment Successor Agency (ORSA).

 

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in real estate, economics, finance, business or public administration, or a closely related field, along with 3 years of experience involving real property appraisal and acquisition, including right-of-way negotiations, lease negotiations, property management and dispositions. Completion of a recognized real estate appraisal course, real estate broker or agent license, State of California General or Residential Appraisal certification,

International Right of Way Assn. Senior designation (SR/WA), Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation and/or Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation are desirable. Public agency real estate experience is preferred.

 

Must have knowledge of real estate principles and practices in both public and private sector, as well as good market analysis, negotiation, records management, time management, PC, verbal/written communication, project management, interpersonal and report generation skills, along with knowledge of relocation assistance eligibility and entitlements and asset management and lease administration principles and practices, including office, retail, telecommunications and billboards. Additionally, must be able to read and interpret maps and engineering plans as well as make sound, independent judgments within established guidelines and time frames. Individuals who are appointed to this position will be required to maintain a valid California Driver's License throughout the tenure of employment.
