Our current opening is for an experienced Research Analyst whose main function is to support the Research Department, and can be called upon to perform any of the job functions below and can perform similar duties for Executive Officers, Portfolio Acquisitions, and Portfolio Management.
Specifically the Research Analyst will be responsible to:
Perform Real Estate Valuations
- Effectively utilize the Marshall Valuation Services cost guide to determine replacement costs of building and site improvements and obtain market rent for acquisition opportunities
- Use CoStar/Loopnet or contact brokers to find comparable rent and land information
- Communicate with Accounting and Legal Departments related to various acquisition and property details
- Communicate with internal and external auditors related to purchase price allocation conclusions Perform Site Reviews
- Conduct physical site inspections of acquisition opportunities
- Create both physical and desktop site review packets of acquisition opportunities
- Present information to the Investment Committee
Conduct Industry Research
- Gather relevant industry information through Industry and Market Reports Assist in the Training of the Real Estate Research Associates
- Assist the Senior Vice President, Research in training the Real Estate Research Associates, specifically in the area of valuation
Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree: B.S. or B.A. with an emphasis on real estate, finance, accounting, and/or other related field of study
- 1 or 2 years of work experience strongly preferred
Certificates, licenses or registrations:
- Drivers license required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Real Estate Valuation
- Understanding of real estate valuation methodologies and financial reporting standards as they relate to Accounting Standard Codification ASC 805
- Real Estate Finance Knowledge
- Basic understanding of both real estate and finance terms
- Research industries and market trends
- Computer/software
- Advanced word processing
- Strong spreadsheet skills
- Relational databases; data entry, creating simple queries & reports
- Mapping software skills (Google Earth Pro, Allteryx, SitesUSA)

- Excellent time management, ability to prioritize tasks from other sources, and make adjustments in a manner to complete all tasks
