Boulder County's Administrative Services Department is accepting applications for the position of Building Services Division Managerwhich is a mid-management level classification. Under general direction, the BCBS Division Manager performs professional, administrative and consultative work in the coordination and supervision the Facilities Management team that executes planning, budgeting, design, construction, maintenance and operations of county facilities and capital improvement projects.
This is a full-time, benefited position with Boulder County. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The Building Services Division Manager will work out of Boulder, CO. Under FLSA guidelines, this position is exempt from overtime.
Hiring salary range: $97,068 to $118,484
Full salary range: $97,068 to $139,800
- Identifies the county's current space needs and implements long range plans and develops building projects to address those needs
- Plans, organizes and administers the Building Services functions, including construction, custodial, design, electrical, infrastructure, landscape, maintenance, security and signage
- Plans, organizes and administers the operating budget for the division and the annual countywide capital expenditure budget, including project cost estimates and recommended priorities
- Develops building project programs and funding strategies
- Oversees the design and construction of building improvement projects and acts as the county's authorized representative on these projects
- Oversees the county's energy management programs and practices for county facilities
- Ensures projects and operating activities comply with county policies and legal requirements
- Conducts performance appraisals, counsels employees concerning performance, and recommends personnel actions in the areas of hiring, termination and discipline
- Ensures satisfaction of building users and acts as liaison for requests and concerns associated with county facilities
- Prepares a variety of technical, narrative and statistical reports
- Trains, delegates and gives general direction to supervisors and other employees
- Presents topics at hearings and executive meetings
- Performs related work, as required
- May be reassigned during emergency situations
EDUCATION:
- A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, business, construction management, or related field of study
- At least five years of experience in facilities management, architecture, engineering, construction, or closely related field
- Four years of supervisory experience facilities management, architecture, engineering, construction, or a related field
Certified Facilities Manager, Certified Energy Manager, or General Contractor License will also be considered when evaluating required education and experience
