The St Louis Fed is one of 12 Reserve Banks serving all or parts of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas with branches in Little Rock, Louisville and Memphis. The St. Louis Fed’s most critical functions include: promoting stable prices and economic growth, fostering a sound financial system, providing payment services to financial institutions, supporting the U.S. Treasury's financial operations, and advancing economic education, community development and fair access to credit.

The Federal Reserve Bank of St Louis has an Assistant Vice President (AVP), Facilities Operations position available in St. Louis, MO. The AVP of Facilities Operations has overall responsibility for ensuring organization-wide consistent standards of building maintenance operations, managing preventive maintenance and overseeing construction projects. The AVP has responsibility for assuring systems’ maximum operational performance and the overall presentation of all Bank-owned/leased facilities. The position is responsible for managing budgets, planning and developing organizational structure and assists executive leadership in creating master operational plans for assigned areas in an effort to meet current and future needs of the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees Maintenance, Engineering, Painting, Housekeeping, Safety and Environment, Project Management, Planning and Administration operations to ensure policies, procedures and established standards are consistently met.

  • Supervises the preparation of goals, policies, budgets and system documentation.

  • Develops, monitors and prioritizes the operating budget.

  • Creates departmental, strategic, team and individual goals and objectives to maintain a relevant, competitive and customer service-oriented organization.

  • Oversees related construction/renovation projects; provides oversight and coordination of cleanup in preparation for occupancy.

  • Meets regularly with business managers, department administrators and other key customers to monitor customer satisfaction. Develops action plans to improve areas of deficiency.

  • Researches technology and regulations to update and improve systems; makes recommendations to departments for implementation.

  • Active participation on Bank/System-level workgroups and task forces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or commensurate experience

  • 10+ years of work experience in facilities management.

  • At least 5 years of direct management/supervisory experience.

  • Strong knowledge of sustainability and building science best practices including LEED; certification preferred.

  • Ability to analyze and resolve highly difficult problems; integrate information from multiple sources; utilize creative thinking; and, exercise considerable judgment and resourcefulness.

  • Demonstrated understanding of the budgeting process with understanding of accounting practices. Ability to operate on a budget.

  • Ability to set positive leadership tone through gaining respect of staff, peers and stakeholders.

  • Capable of coaching staff to increase performance while increasing/maintaining employee engagement.

  • Must be able to interact with staff, peers and senior management in a comfortable and effective manner.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with conflict in a professional manner.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficient in the use of PCs, E-mail, MS Word, Excel and able to learn other computer-based applications required to lead facilities operations (i.e., square footage software).

  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision.

  • Travel (15%)
