Responsibilities

As a Senior accountant with Hines, you will ensure the accuracy and propriety of all financial data and reports maintained and prepared for the properties/projects, tier entities and investors within the Financial Reporting Group. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Supervises Accountant
    • Reviews A/P entries for accurate coding and amounts; post batches
    • Reviews journal entries for accurate coding and amounts; post batches
  • Performs cash management functions including, daily investment sweeps, weekly commissions, monthly Dealer Manager Fees and intercompany settlements, redemptions, vendor wire payments and check run funding
  • Review and analyze the general ledger and ensure records are kept in compliance with GAAP
  • Prepares recurring journal entries and quarterly accruals
  • Reconciles intercompany & equity balances and prepares balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provides assistance to the Accounting Manager for month-end close procedures
  • Monthly processing of consolidation enterprise software and validation of reports created
  • Provides assistance to the Accounting Manager preparing/reviewing the quarterly consolidation process
  • Prepares quarterly audit schedules and create support binder
  • Maintains REIT organization chart
  • Prepare quarterly cash flow statement reconciliation and collaborate with property accountants
  • Prepare monthly asset management fee calculation
  • Respond to quarterly auditor requests and prepare related support
  • Provides assistance to Accounting Manager and Controller as needed


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

 

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline from an accredited institution
  • CPA preferred
  • Two or more years of professional accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge and application of GAAP
  • Perform numerical and financial calculations
  • Analyze and interpret various types of data in order to draw conclusions and solve problems
  • Exchange ideas, information, and opinions with others to formulate and/or arrive jointly at decisions, conclusions, or solutions
