ABOUT THE ROLE:

Sitting in either AMS, EMEA, or APAC, the Global Director of Strategic Programs, you will function globally across all lines of business. You'll guide the team to ensure cohesion across procurement teams to enhance CBRE leverage, process efficiency and mitigate risk. The team is focused on enabling and driving value for CBRE and it's clients through current and new strategic programs. The team focuses on operationalizing programs, so they can deliver benefits in a consistent, efficient, and compliant way whilst maintaining privilege of focus for each business line.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Support the design, deployment, and operationalization of strategic programs across all lines of business.
  • Drive Procurement Maturity Improvement and support Regional/Country Procurement Plans.
  • Identify, develop, drive and support procurement business excellence.


WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Establish the multi-year vision and strategy for the team by working closely with senior leadership within procurement.
  • Lead the team to support and implement global critical initiatives, with the primary goal to improve procurement maturity (country and account), optimize procurement processes as well as identify, fix and embed continuous improvement on existing and new programs. In conjunction, ensure clear business benefits are monitored and measured.
  • Establish appropriate communication channels and work closely across the globe with internal partners and other support departments todrive alignment, early issue identification to feed continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Identify "critical accounts" that the team will conduct procurement diagnostics on in support of CBRE and client objectives. This will assist in ensuring designed procurement excellence tools are fit for purpose and continuously improve whilst identifying "procurement excellence" that can be shared across accounts, sectors, and the business.
  • Look for opportunities to drive consistency across the lines of businesses, identify excellence that can be widely applied, identify early deployment and adoption issues, while preserving CBREs ability to be flexible to local demands for our clients and internal customers.
  • Senior leaders are expected to provide support and coaching of other procurement and business associates throughout the global network.
  • Support team members develop and implement career development plans, provide regular appraisal feedback, recommend and approve promotion and, advancement and provide recommendations on remuneration and bonuses as well as any out of cycle recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement that drive efficiencies, improves margins and ultimately ahs positive client outcomes is vital. Manage change effectively, communicate the benefits of change, and address any concerns or resistance to change.
  • Make decisions with a solid understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department timeframe goals. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.
  • Stay advised of the market dynamics to make informed decisions can be made to drive procurement and stay abreast of external market dynamic changes and finding ways to embed these into the business to provide a "competitive edge" to our procurement and support departments will be highly regarded.
  • Outside of immediate area, act as mentor and coach others.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with the company's RISE values.


WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in Business, Commerce or Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Minimum 6 years validated experience in procurement with a focus on procurement strategy, procurement excellence and continuous improvement. Solid understanding of procurement policies, procedures, and standard methodology.
  • C.P.M., C.P.S.M. or N.A.C.M. certifications and/or MCPIS preferred
  • Experience managing dispersed teams and operating in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to develop procurement strategies that align to the organizations business objectives is a must. Has deep understanding of the industry, the business, and our clients.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills. Skill to communicate complex procurement strategies, policies, and procedures in a clear and concise manner so it is understood at varying levels.
  • Experience in change management in a globally matrixed organization is critical.
  • Ability to solve sophisticated problems and take care of a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with validated experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
  • Proven track record of delivering results across a global matrix organization.
  • As the team itself is small, an capability to be "resourceful" to indirectly influence improvement programs will be helpful.
  • Experience with e-procurement and contracts management technology platforms. Experience with standard accounting and/or ERP systems.
