Responsibilities

As the Senior Manager, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) will provide thought-leadership, guidance and consultation to business leaders, employees and HR partners in the Americas and work closely with the Chief Diversity Officer to develop, implement and monitor programs that promote and support Hines’ short-term and long-term DEI goals and objectives both internally and externally. This includes establishing metrics and tools to measure progress and evaluate the impact and ROI of programs, develop insights and partner with key stakeholders to effectively execute the DEI strategy and framework across the firm and embed best practices.

The Senior DEI Manager will champion these values which serve as the foundation to maintaining a culture at Hines where the creative thinking of a diverse workplace is embraced. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Partner in the implementation of a firm-wide platform that supports our Hines Guiding Principle: Hines is committed to fostering an inclusive culture where diversity is respected and valued.

  • Consult with business leaders and contribute to DEI thought leadership using comprehensive knowledge of DEI concepts and leading best practices.

  • Partner across HRBPs and HR COEs to ensure our people practices and processes support the integration of our DEI strategy and goals into all aspects of the employee experience, and continually evaluate DEI efforts to ensure they are relevant to the current business landscape.

  • Provide oversight and programming to Functional Lead and Ambassador Roles within various OneHines networks and Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

  • Assist in developing metrics and insights for measuring the effectiveness of DEI programs and strategy.

  • Remain current on DEI industry trends and legal considerations, and share best practices with HR leadership, Local Ambassadors, OneHines networks(s), ERGs and other stakeholders.

  • Partner with key stakeholders to advance Hines’ DEI internal and external partnerships and ESG social strategies.

  • Partner with the Talent Development team to evaluate and consult on training options designed to educate managers and employees on the importance of DEI in our workplace, as well as ensuring ongoing and progressive learning of DEI content.

  • Work with Chief Diversity Officer to plan and manage appropriate budget and adhere to budget guidelines.



Qualifications

Minimum Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource, Business, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five or more years of demonstrated experience in successfully advancing strategic D&I initiatives and programs within an organization.
  • Proven ability to think strategically around DEI’s application to HR, lines of business, and Hines’ business objectives and ability to execute into impactful results.

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of D&I principles.

  • Exceptional communication skills across various conveyances and forums (oral, written, presentations, etc.).

  • Strong analytical and assessment skills, and the ability to synthesize data and translate key insights and trends into actionable plans.

  • Ability to deliver high quality work within a decentralized, collaborative, fast-paced environment and effectively work with any business level.

  • The ability to self-start and be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity.

  • Ability handling highly sensitive and confidential information and engage in matters that require sensitivity and empathy across the diverse Hines community.

  • Ability to influence key partners and get results through collaboration; be seen as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, peers and executive sponsors.

  • Demonstrated strong project management skills, superior attention to detail and action minded with the ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.

  • Experience working with both internal and external stakeholder groups and proven track record of influencing at the highest levels of the organization.

  • Occasional travel required (~25%).

  • Operate personal computer and other office equipment.

  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs.

  • Work overtime as business needs deem appropriate.
