National SBA 7a Origination Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:  Northeast Bank’s (NASDAQ: NBN) National Small Business Administration (“SBA”) Lending team is looking for a motivated and diligent Origination Analyst to support its loan underwriting and closing functions. Northeast Bank utilizes a technology-based origination platform and collaborates with an established Lender Service Provider (“LSP”) to underwrite and close SBA 7a Small Loans. Northeast Bank has earned a reputation for providing creative and responsive lending solutions and is powered by an experienced team with a successful track record. The Origination Analyst will be responsible for completing underwriting and closing due diligence items according to SBA Standard Operating Procedures (“SOP”) as well as making credit and closing decision recommendations.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with managing the SBA 7a Small Loan national origination pipeline by completing underwriting and closing due diligence items.
• Evaluate SBA 7a Small Loan applications via online portal to ensure files meet all Bank and SBA credit, eligibility, and risk standards.
• Review prepared loan documents to confirm accuracy and consistency with the approved credit memo.
• Make credit and closing decision recommendations to the SBA Credit Manager and Closing Manager.
• Collaborate with the Bank’s LSP to address and resolve any credit, eligibility, or documentation issues.
• Attend standing meetings with LSP and technology vendor to address any process or platform issues that may arise.
• Support efforts to respond to various audit inquires.
• Successfully pass technical and regulatory examinations as required by the Bank.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

• Bachelor’s degree with a strong track record of performance and leadership.
• Two (2) or more years of experience in processing, asset management, and/or loan underwriting, SBA experience preferred.
• Outgoing, charismatic, and comfortable engaging with people in all types of environments through all mediums (phone, in person, via email).
• Team-orientation with a desire to learn and improve.
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Formal bank credit training a plus. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND CONDITIONS:

• Flexibility in schedule with respect to meeting time sensitive deadlines.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
• Some travel is required.
• Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
• Consistently operates a computer and other office equipment such as calculator, copy machine and printers.
• Climate controlled general office setting with moderate noise level.
• Must express or exchange ideas with co-workers, customers, and vendors.
