About the Role

The Asset Management Senior Associate role will be specific to the Healthcare (HC) team which focuses on an existing portfolio of Medical Office, Life Sciences, and Senior Living assets. As a member of the HC Investment team, the Senior Associate of Asset Management has several primary responsibilities:

  • Help lead the Asset Management team to oversee all elements of business plan execution across a nationwide portfolio of existing assets. This role will start with a focus on Senior Living, but will eventually take over the existing Medical Office and Life Sciences portfolio as well.
  • Monitor, review, and report financial operating results and report on monthly / quarterly / annual financial performance regarding development / construction timelines, on-site leasing, marketing, capital budgets, and financial variance reporting.
  • Manage the annual budget review and approval process for the assigned portfolio.
  • Review broker BOVs and capital market / industry trends to effectively lead hold/sell/refinance decision making process to make recommendations to the investment committee.
  • Conduct site visits alongside team and partners on a semi-annual basis to review and assess operations, capital improvement programs, and property physical condition to make recommendations on strategic buy/sell decisions, business plan course corrections, potential acquisition opportunities and operating partner oversight.
  • Maintain market studies and competitor analysis during ownership for use in asset management and fund level deliverables and reporting.
  • Work alongside the acquisitions team to review, analyze, and approve preliminary due diligence investment information received for potential investments including property level financial statements and underwriting models.
  • Report to and interface with firm’s investors, auditors and potential partners on property and fund level performance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Detailed understanding of real estate financial analysis and property / fund level accounting principles
  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree a plus) with strong academic credentials
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with iLevel, Microsoft Access or other database management tools a plus
  • Strong analytical skills, research capabilities, and negotiation skills
  • Diligent work ethic with ability to take initiative and comfortably work in fast-paced environment with simultaneous ongoing projects
  • Keen interest in private equity and institutional-level real estate investing
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Regular travel is required
