The Dermot Company, a New York City based real estate developer and operator, is seeking a Construction Project Coordinator to provide administrative support for apartment renovations, lobby, elevator and amenity space improvements and miscellaneous building safety and maintenance upgrades. All projects are in occupied residential buildings. This is a full-time, onsite position with travel primarily within Manhattan and some in surrounding areas (e.g., Brooklyn, Queens).

ABOUT THIS ROLE

 

Some of the things you’ll be working on include:

 

  • Procuring finishes required for apartment renovations (plumbing fixtures, tile, wood flooring, kitchen cabinets, stone counters, doors/frames/hardware, etc.)
  • Coordinating on-time and accurate material deliveries to avoid delays in project completion.
  • Owning and tracking project punch lists and proactively communicating status with building management to ensure successful and timely project closeout.
  • Reviewing invoices and assisting the senior project manager with project budgeting.
  • Securing and maintaining project documentation and records (e.g., lien waivers, certificates of insurance, certificates of capital improvement, DOB permits, and construction site notices, etc.).
  • Serving as the liaison between the building manager, superintendent and construction team.
  • Managing relationships with architects, engineers, contractors and vendors.

 

ABOUT YOU AND WHAT YOU OFFER

 

  • BA in project management, business development and/or communications.
  • Experience working in New York City as an intern or assistant project manager in construction or related field.
  • Exceptional organization, attention to detail, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • MS Office - Excel, PowerPoint, Word - proficiency.
  • A strong work ethic and commitment to meet deadlines.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions.

Our compensation and benefits package include a competitive salary, commensurate with experience with bonus potential, comprehensive benefits including medical, dental and vision, paid time off and retirement with match when eligible and an inclusive work environment. The gross annualized base ranges from $65,000 to 80,000. The actual compensation within the range will be based on a factors unique to each candidate including years and depth of experience.
