Job Description – Vice President of Operations – Scottsdale, AZ


Position:
 

Established, award-winning, entrepreneurial real estate firm is looking for a Vice President of Operations for its portfolio of multifamily, office, retail, industrial and hospitality assets concentrated in the southwestern United States and Europe. 


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in asset management of commercial real estate.
  • Experience with acquisitions and development is a positive.
  • Advanced proficiency to understand financial modeling for real estate ownership and development.
  • Excellent research skills and aptitude to understand the dynamics of various locations, submarkets, economic conditions, and financial markets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A willingness to work flexible hours and in a collaborative, team-based environment.
  • Strong sense of personal motivation, responsibility, and entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities:
Asset Management – Manage the operation of the company’s commercial real estate portfolio to maximize value. Responsibilities include interaction with leasing brokers, developing leasing strategies, negotiating leases, supervising property managers, reviewing property budgets, defining/managing tenant and other capital improvements and development of hold/sell strategies. Experience managing insurance coverage and property taxes is a positive.


Asset Sales
– Manage the sale process for real estate assets, including, selecting listing brokers, reviewing offering memorandum drafts, selecting purchasers, negotiating purchase and sale agreements, and managing the escrow process.


Acquisitions
– Assist in sourcing acquisition opportunities through brokers and other contacts.  Assist in the acquisition process including evaluating market assumptions, working with the financial analysis team to review/modify financial proformas, negotiating purchase and sale agreements, overseeing the due diligence process, and managing the escrow process.  Experience and track record of sourcing/evaluating opportunities is a positive.


Development
– Assist in the development of real estate assets including reviewing construction and operating budgets, evaluating market fundamentals, and negotiating construction contracts.  Experience managing general contractors is viewed favorably but not required.
