Chief Accounting Officer

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Company seeks a hands-on, operationally savvy, and strategically oriented financial professional to lead the financial operations. This position will report to the CO-CEOs. The CAO will manage the day-to-day financial operations as well as the weekly, monthly, quarterly reporting. The CAO shall oversee the Finance, Accounting, functions of our Company.You’ll also need an exceptional entrepreneurial spirit


The CAO will lead a small team. This position requires a strong understanding of real estate finance and accounting and audit practices, budget-to actual comparisons, and acquisition/disposition reconciliations.

Specific activities include, but are not limited to:

• Work with the CEO in developing strategies to ensure the organization has the financial resources needed to achieve its current and future goals
• Comply with all local, state, and federal tax filings and reporting requirements
• Oversee financial reporting
• Assist in creating an organizational structure within the accounting department to facilitate the achievement of short term and long-term goals/objectives
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key financial partners including lenders, investors, partners, consultants.
• Develop a plan to improve the weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting processes.
• Enhance the organization’s budgeting and forecasting processes and provide a monthly analysis of financial performance vs. budget and relevant financial data to drive the business.
• Develop cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.
• Develop organizational key performance indicators based on annual budget and Company’s short-term and long-term strategy.
• Prepare and revise company financial policies
• Maintain portfolio analysis to track cash flows, capital projects and distributions
• Oversee portfolio budgeting, accounting, and cash management to ensure accurate reporting
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP and regulatory requirements. Maintain internal control safeguards and audit activities.
Ability to calculate specific investment IRR and perform waterfall modeling for

QUALIFICATIONS
• 7+ years of experience
• Significant experience within real estate private equity
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• CPA license preferred
