Wellings Capital is a real estate private equity firm based in Lynchburg, VA dedicated to helping investors protect and grow their wealth through real estate. We're hiring a Director of Investor Relations to join our team as we scale from 500 investors to 1,000 and beyond in the next few years.

The mission for this role is to convert prospects to life-long investors and proactively communicate and foster relationship with existing investors.

This position will include fielding inbound client inquiries and requests, providing high-touch customer service, and telling the Wellings Capital story to prospective investors. This position requires someone who has excellent communication skills, is confident talking on the phone, and can connect with new people very quickly. Ideally, the candidate we are looking for has experience with commercial real estate or investor relations, a high level of integrity, and is proactive and adaptable. This role could be in-person or remote, but preference will be given to those candidates in Virginia. Starting salary depends on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Hit monthly/quarterly/yearly growth targets as measured by number of new investors, average investment per investor, and new revenue generation
  • Handle the initial phone and/or video calls with potential investors. Achieve high level of investor satisfaction by being excellent in all areas of this role, carefully vetting each prospect, and steering those with the wrong philosophical fit away from investing with Wellings Capital
  • Regularly create resources for current and potential investor base
  • Prepare marketing and sales materials for current and potential investors
  • Manage investor database
  • Hold each prospect's hand through the investment process. Provide excellent support and transparency to existing investors as needed
  • Work with co-workers and vendors to gather necessary data for quarterly reports then assist with writing, designing, and sending each report and answer investor follow-up questions
  • Assist investor relations team with regular projects

Requirements

  • 2+ years of investor relations, financial services sales, or investment experience
  • Understanding of basic commercial real estate terms and financial return metrics
  • Amazing people skills and and ability to interact with a wide range of people
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Technologically savvy and not intimidated by learning new technology
  • Experience with PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat. Capable of synthesizing complex data into easily understandable reports/documents using software
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced, and flexible environment with a high degree of autonomy
  • Comfortable working in a flexible office/remote environment
  • Have enthusiasm and belief in our mission, vision and values
