Job Description: Commercial Real Estate Senior Loan Originator

Lever Capital Partners is currently accepting resumes for a Commercial Real Estate Loan Originator specifically for the Turnaround/Workout/Bankruptcy sector with no specific geographic preference.


Position Summary

This position is responsible for originating and screening commercial real estate debt and equity requests across all asset classes that are in distress. An emphasis is placed on the individual’s ability to produce quality debt and equity submissions, develop strong client relationships, and manage transactions through an expedited underwriting and closing process.


Responsibilities

  • Originate commercial real estate debt, mezzanine, preferred equity and JV equity transactions across all asset classes.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships; with an emphasis on bankruptcy attorneys, workout consultants, and turnaround groups.

  • Cultivate relationships with intermediaries such as real estate brokers, accountants, attorneys and financial planners in search of debt or equity opportunities.

  • Prescreen and qualify loans prior to the underwriting process.


Requirements

  • Must have previous relationships with bankruptcy related transactions and connections with third party providers who can refer business to Lever.

  • Knowledge of commercial real estate fundamentals is desirable with a minimum of 3 years commercial banking/commercial mortgage experience.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or a related area with real estate coursework is preferred.
