JOB SUMMARY: This internship is designed for current graduate students seeking a career in commercial real estate. It is intended to provide a well-rounded knowledge of the commercial real estate business and valuable skills, earned by working alongside talented professionals at a boutique commercial real estate development company. The internship will accelerate your learning and development by providing you with a strong foundation upon which to build your career in commercial real estate.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Acquisitions

  • Conduct initial screening on acquisition and development opportunities
    • Underwrite potential deals using Excel and ARGUS
  • Manage and update prospects in an internal tracking database
  • Prepare and update financial models for acquisitions and developments including:
    • Rent roll analysis
    • Market rent analysis
    • Sales Comp and Land Comp analysis
  • Assist the Senior Analyst with procurement and review of due diligence reports
  • Assist with developing and managing deliverables to capital sources including:
    • Lender and Investor reports
    • Project reports
  • Develop investment memoranda and other presentations for internal investment review
  • Provide ongoing support with current deals, including market surveys, proposal reviews and summaries, lease reviews, financial analysis
  • Assist with regular projects, including administrative support of the acquisitions of commercial real estate properties, building presentations, building manuals, etc.

Development & Asset Management

  • Attend design, pre-development, and operations meetings
  • Comprehensive tracking of project data as needed for reporting (e.g. construction starts/finishes, budgeting, working with accounting, scheduling.)
  • Perform additional duties as needed, including data entry, filing, and maintaining organizational systems
  • Analyze the following:
    • Lease proposals
    • Sale opportunities
    • Development budget changes
  • Contribute to special projects in support of business development

Marketing

  • Assist with developing and preparing marketing and presentation materials
  • Work alongside the Creative Director and Executive Assistant on current marketing projects and branding initiatives
  • Assist with special projects as needed

 

The position is sponsored by the office of the CEO and Founder who will be involved in cross functional tasks and special assignments as well as the program’s mentoring aspects.

 

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Architecture, or related field
  • Current graduate level student with coursework experience in real estate or related field
  • Experience in a real estate, finance, consulting, or analytical role preferred
  • Strong modeling, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Proficient with MS Office and comfortable learning new software
