Our expectations are that the Learning and Development Lead both a strategic and hands-on role that provides support to our organization’s growth plans. The role will be critical as we rapidly grow and scale by providing structure for the organization and People Team.


Job Summary:

Fairstead’s Learning and Development Lead is responsible for improving the productivity of the organization's employees. This position assesses company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identifies and arranges suitable training solutions for employees. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Conduct annual training and development needs assessment.
  • Develop training and development programs and objectives.
  • Lead the design and execution of integrated talent strategies aligned to business objectives
  • Build talent pipeline programming and culture concepts that drive performance excellence through performance management, leveraged by people analytics and insights
  • Integrate diversity, equity and inclusion throughout all program design
  • Lead the design and execution of integrated talent solutions, including executive development and coaching, individual development planning, talent reviews, succession planning and leadership development
  • Provide high quality internal consulting to HR & business leaders to identify gaps and opportunities for development and leads the design and execution of programs/experiences to build critical capabilities and foster desired learning culture
  • Measure the health of the talent pipeline through targeted analytics and provide insights and action
  • Provide thought leadership and best practices in the talent space underpinned by ongoing self-development through external engagement and best practices exposure
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with vendor partners in support of best-in-class, cost-effective, enterprise-wide development solutions
  • Obtain and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media.
  • Develop material for People Team to train and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.
  • Develop and maintain organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.
  • Conduct follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results.
  • Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
  • Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and People team.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Ten years of experience designing and implementing employee development programs.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred.
  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
