Role Objectives & Responsibilities

 

The Portfolio Management Associate (PMA) will be responsible for performing detailed analysis of existing and potential investments for a multibillion-dollar portfolio of Single Family Real Estate (SFR) across the country. The PMA will develop, maintain, and produce a suite of investment reports, including internal and external financial reporting, and periodic investor reporting. The PMA will analyze the data in those reports to draw conclusions about investment performance and communicate those conclusions to the Portfolio Management and Asset Management teams. The PMA will also be responsible for building investment projection models for various investment funds, acquisition, and disposition opportunities. The PMA will perform various market analyses to determine the viability of new investments and participate in the decision-making process to determine which investments the firm will pursue. The PMA will be familiar with all data systems and sources utilized for analyses internal and external, as well as evaluate and source new data.

 

  • Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Design, build, maintain, and produce portfolio management, asset management, and financial reports.
  • Perform detailed review and analysis of reports to draw conclusions about investment performance at both the fund, market, and asset level.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Management and Asset Management teams to ensure all relevant information about the performance of portfolios and assets are being communicated promptly.
  • Perform macro, market, and sub-market analysis of US housing and residential mortgage markets to stay abreast of the market, regulatory and other developments, and to evaluate potential new investment opportunities
  • Produce and update periodical investor reporting across multiple investment funds
  • This role will work very closely with Portfolio Management, Asset Management, Finance, and the Investment Committee
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Requirement Knowledge & Experience

 

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a history of excellence at working both independently and in a team setting, multi-tasking, prioritizing, and effective communication. This is a highly detail-oriented and analytical position. Expertise in financial modeling and analysis is required.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of real estate private equity, residential mortgage trading, analysis/asset management experience
  • Bachelors degree in finance, statistics, real estate, or related field with strong record of academic achievement
  • Masters degree preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Excel required
  • Strong experience with financial modeling, including detailed property-level financial statement analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and performance metrics
  • Strong ability to multi-task and manage varied and constantly changing workload in a fast paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to set personal and project-specific priorities, be highly organized in day-to-day and longer-term planning and execution, and track and maintain complex schedules
  • Articulate, decisive communicator who understands how to communicate effectively with a wide spectrum of internal and external executives, professionals, and investors
  • Outstanding professional carriage and personal presentation
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret complex documents and respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries
