POSITION SUMMARY
The Sr. Associate position is a critical leadership role tasked with overseeing the day-to-day workflow and analytical functions of the team, as well as directly leading underwriting/valuation advisory efforts and supporting senior brokers on complex/high-profile assets.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsibilities may include the following:
- Directing, overseeing, and reviewing financial analysts’ analytical work product as well as writing and production of institutional quality offering materials
- Delegate assignments (or assigning workflow) to the team’s 4 financial analysts
- Train financial analysts in a variety of financial/underwriting topics central to team functions
- Run weekly team meetings
- Participate in client presentations
- Prepare discounted cash flow analyses for various income producing properties using Argus Enterprise software and Excel valuation models
- Create ad hoc financial models in Excel for various analyses
- Review and summarize tenant leases and articulate issues/concerns in a clear and effective manner
- Convey all particulars of a transaction (financial projections, market and location issues and tenant analysis, etc.) in formal written format, for marketing materials presented to clients
- Assist in the preparation/review of final marketing materials and underwriting for sales transactions
- Articulate findings (both pros and cons) of a transaction to team members in a professional, thorough manner
- Assist in collecting and evaluating required due diligence materials for sales transactions; make necessary inquiries to clients to ensure that required information is provided in a timely and effective manner
- Assist in conducting site inspections and property tours
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree; Real Estate, Business or Finance preferred
- 5+ years of real estate experience; prior Investment Sales/Acquisitions/Asset Management experience preferred
- Prior experience overseeing junior team members preferred
- Knowledge of local commercial real estate markets preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Argus Enterprise preferred
- Strong math and advanced research skills
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a timely and thorough manner
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
