Director of Investments

The Director of Investments will be primarily responsible for leading Caddis’ capital raising efforts by developing new and nurturing long-term relationships with the company’s growing investor base. The role will also include overseeing communications with our syndicated investor groups and providing input in the analysis of debt structure for individual projects and investment portfolios, along with other capital markets activities. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, motivated, self-starter with a hands-on approach that can span from high-level strategy to in-the-trenches detail-oriented execution on projects. This person should have a proven track record in developing and closing investment sales with high-net-worth investors, family offices and/ or institutional investors.  
 
Responsibilities:

  • Lead the capital raising for new investments through our acquisition funds and for individual development projects.
  • Understand underwriting, deal structure, investment levels, waterfalls, value add strategy, and primary risk/opportunities of projects.
  • Maintain relationships with investors and regularly communicate updates and activities as related to their investments.
  • Oversee management of the investor portal with updated reports, information and tax documents. 
  • Review monthly financials and attend operations meetings to track budget and pro forma performance.
  • Compile and distribute all required reporting.
  • Maintain and update legal documents related to acquisition fund structures.
  • Review tax documentation for accuracy and be able to communicate explanations for items on investor K-1’s. Ensure each investor and their underlying investments are listed correctly.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and assist the asset management and capital markets teams.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or real estate. Graduate degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of fundraising experience with a focus on private equity (real estate preferred).
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); preference for candidates familiar with financial reporting programs such as Yardi, Argus and Cardin.
  • Ability to develop and maintain courteous and effective working relationships with clients, tenants, vendors and/or any other representative of external organizations. 
  • Excellent problem solving, verbal and written communication, analytical and planning, and leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail while maintaining a view of the big picture issues and requirements.
  • Demonstrated analytical and mathematical skills necessary to read and interpret financial records, budgets, and other fiscal reporting information.
