JOB OVERVIEW

Four Corners Property Trust (“FCPT” or the “Company”) was launched in November 2015 and owns approximately 750 properties, the majority of which are triple net restaurant properties. FCPT is a publicly-traded (~$2.6 billion enterprise value) investment grade rated REIT that has a dynamic start-up environment with the backing and stability of a well-capitalized public company balance sheet.

We are seeking an exceptional candidate to join the team as Controller, Finance and Reporting. This position will help lead the accounting team in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer. The successful candidate will perform management and oversight activities associated with the financial reporting including preparation of financial statements and disclosures, U.S. GAAP compliance, accounting research and technical policy implementation, management of the day-to-day Sarbanes-Oxley compliance effort, REIT and other tax requirements, and certain treasury functions.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee quarterly and annual financial reporting including 10-Qs and 10-Ks, ensuring processes and controls are effective in reporting the Company’s earnings, financial position and cash flows
• Identify and analyze the impact of new or proposed GAAP accounting regulations, pronouncements and other technical matters related to reporting
• Coordinate and supervise activities of internal and external auditors
• Develop and manage strong, collaborative relationships with other teams in the organization to understand the business and apply that knowledge to the financial statements and reporting
• Manage the equity accounting function, including stock-based compensation, EPS and equity account reconciliations, in connection with the Company’s equity incentive plans
• Oversee treasury functions, including bank and treasury systems, accounting for equity and debt issuance, debt compliance calculations, and review all necessary reporting requirements to third parties
• Coordinate with outsourced tax provider for accurate tax accounting, quarterly and annual tax projection, and REIT compliance testing
• Month and quarter-end duties, including review of journal entries, account reconciliations, error investigations, and variance analysis
• Assist in management of key systems implementations and process improvements
• Supervise and provide guidance to corporate accounting team
• Work with senior management, including preparation of financial data used in quarterly press releases and supplements of company operating results, materials used in quarterly presentations to the Company Board of Directors, and investor and lender analysis

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Total experience of minimum 8 years with a minimum of 3-4 years of public accounting experience; BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA is required

• Strong technical accounting skills including business combinations, goodwill and intangible asset impairment testing, revenue recognition, accounting for stock-based compensation
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Experience with publicly traded companies, internal controls and supporting SOX requirements
• Excellent communication skills, with experience communicating to all levels in one/one, informational and presentational roles
