Prosper Portland seeks a project manager who will plan and implement a variety of real estate-based development initiatives for the City of Portland. This position will help realize growth and resiliency for Portland communities that advances equitable prosperity. This position will initially focus on two key areas: southwest Portland and east Portland.

In SW Portland, the project manager will work on several initiatives including the planned extension of the MAX light rail, significant changes to other transportation infrastructure like the Ross Island Bridge and community redevelopment in the West Portland Town Center area. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with public, private and community-based partners to facilitate business creation and expansion, assist in the development of mixed-use projects and help ensure these initiatives benefit all Portlanders.

In east Portland, the project manager will engage with the community to understand their needs related to planning, zoning, infrastructure projects, and real estate development. The project manager will also develop relationships with the businesses in the district and provide access to resources that support their success.

A strong candidate will possess comprehensive project management capabilities and a passion for advancing racial equity, along with the flexibility and talent to progress complex, fluid and sometimes politically charged projects. This person will have strong self-awareness, integrity, the ability to work collaboratively and an intuitive ease with broad and inclusive community engagement. Knowledge and experience working with grass-roots, community led development efforts, community planning, or real estate development will serve this position well.

Prosper Portland is the economic and urban development agency for the city of Portland. Our work is based on four cornerstones:  growing family-wage jobs, advancing opportunities for prosperity, collaborating with partners for an equitable city, and creating vibrant neighborhoods and communities. We make racial equity the foundation of our community and economic development work. Within our workplace and working with our partners, we embrace values of authentic inclusion, transparency, and collaboration.
