As Realty Income’s Insurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall compliance with landlord required insurance coverage. Your keen eye for accuracy, coupled with strong written and verbal communication will be vital for the success of this role. Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Lease Administration, you will be responsible for precision as it relates to expenses of coverage and recovery of the same.

 

Your Contribution to the Team Includes:

Insurance Coverage Classifications

  • Accurately denote type of insurance coverage to be carried by Landlord to include verification by review of lease, REA and similar documents, loan documentation and provided abstracts.
    • Accurately input determinations into Yardi database to include coverage type, dates of coverage and reimbursement information.
  • Ensure notification of insurance requirements are accurately and timely communicated to outside third-party insurance advisor/agent when applicable.
    • Notify advisor accurately and timely of changes to coverage status when applicable
  • Compile report denoting property specifics as to coverage zones, replacement values, occupancy status, landlord coverage requirements and reimbursement information (where applicable) to be sent to third party insurance advisor/agent. 

Cost Recovery

  • Accurately and timely invoice responsible parties for coverage provided.
      • Review/abstract/confirm recovery information.
      • Timely provide parties with invoice and if applicable, reconciliation of escrow payments.
      • Maintain accurate tenant ledger records; proper notification of changes to other department personnel.
      • Review A/R and follow up on outstanding payments; enter collection information memos
      • Provide accurate insurance coverage costs in-house as requested for properties subject to renewal.
      • Provide accurate, timely quotes as requested to various departments on as needed basis

Compliance

  • Assist Property Management by reviewing coverage charges invoiced by third party providers.

 

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from four-year college or university is preferred; or three to four years equivalent related experience.
  • Ability to identify information to clarify a situation, seek that information from appropriate, multiple sources and use skillful questioning to abstract the information.  Notices discrepancies and inconsistencies in available information.
  • Carefully weighs the job responsibilities priorities.  Can function effectively under pressure.
  • Strives to possess in-depth knowledge of insurance (specifically real property and liability coverage in addition to other insurance coverage components) and apply it to practical situations.
  • Excellent attention-to-detail skills; ability to monitor own work and work of others for completeness and accuracy; ability to organize information and materials for others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and presentation abilities, including the ability to communicate complex ideas to large groups and management.
  • Excellent PC skills including Outlook, Excel, Word and MRI.
